Surgical Technician Certified, Operating Room (Full Time, Days)

Job Summary
Check supplies and equipment for surgical procedures, scrub the surgical team, and set up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, medications, and solutions. Perform appropriate counts with the circulator before incision, pass instruments and retractors to the surgeon, and assist with draping the sterile field. Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique throughout the operation, anticipate team needs, and handle surgical specimens and sharps in accordance with safety policies. Requires full-time day shifts with on-the-job training of 1.5 years. Certification required upon hire per NJ or PA requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Certification required upon hire
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification
- National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification
- Ability to sit up to 1 hour per day
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to walk up to 8-10 hours per day
- Ability to continuously use manual dexterity for handling and twisting/turning
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 10 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds
- Ability to frequently push objects up to 100+ pounds
- Ability to stoop and bend
- Ability to reach above shoulder level
- Ability to move and respond quickly
- Ability to hear as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequencies
- Ability to see as it relates to general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to tolerate visual monotony
