Surgical Technician - Certified First Assist

Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures; performs sponging, suturing, suctioning, holding retractors, and maintaining homeostasis. Monitors patient and equipment during surgery and prepares patients for transport. Anticipates surgeon needs during routine and complex scrub duties; intervenes to correct or minimize risks based on observation; troubleshoots and resolves issues with care and equipment. Serves as the preceptor for new employees, transfers, and affiliating students; relies on problem-solving to maintain quality patient care and sterile technique.
