Job Summary
Performs surgical technician duties under the guidance of the circulating RN and surgeon; assists with room turnover and maintains appropriate stock levels of implants and supplies for multiple services; adheres to asepsis principles; coordinates activities with the circulating nurse from start to finish of surgeries/procedures; seeks clarification of duties as needed and expands clinical skills; works with supply chain to order and stock specialty supplies for two services; must have completed surgical technician training and have five years of experience; certification as a Surgical Technician (AST or NCCT) and Basic Life Support are required; able to communicate in English with Spanish preferred; proficient with computers and medical software; capable of reading preference cards and working in a collaborative, fast-paced OR environment.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technician course is required
- Five years' experience required
- Surgical Technician certification required
- Basic Life Support certification required
- Certification may be provided by AST or NCCT
- Ability to read and write English (Spanish preferred)
- Proficiency with computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, EMR)
