Job Summary
Collaborate with the perioperative registered nurse to organize and administer age-specific care to patients while maintaining a safe environment and ensuring expected physiologic responses across the surgical suite and perioperative division. Scrub cases in robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic, and trauma service lines. Maintain current NBSTSA certification and BLS Healthcare Provider Certification. Work evening shifts from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, including every other weekend and holidays, as a full-time member of the RWJBarnabas Health team.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Surgical Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA)
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- Availability for 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm shifts
- Availability for every other weekend and Holiday
- Full Time employment status
