Job Summary
Collaborate with the perioperative registered nurse to organize and administer age-specific care to patients, maintain a safe surgical environment, and ensure expected physiologic responses across the perioperative division. Scrub in robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic, and trauma cases while making calls and multitasking independently. Requires Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) certification, current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification, and 2–3 years of experience. Evening shift from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, rotating every other weekend and holidays. Full-time employment at RWJBarnabas Health, the leading academic health system in New Jersey.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Must be able to make calls
- Must be flexible
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be able to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA)
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
- 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
- Every other weekend and Holiday
- Full Time
