Job Summary
Collaborate with the perioperative registered nurse to organize and administer age-specific care to patients in the surgical suite, ensuring physiologic responses remain expected. Scrub across multiple service lines including robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases, and trauma. Maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes while ensuring excellent communication and independent multitasking skills. Work evening shifts from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, rotating every other weekend and holidays. This role supports RWJBarnabas Health's mission to provide patient-centered, high-quality academic medicine and advance innovative strategies in clinical care, education, and research throughout New Jersey.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Must be able to make calls
- Must be flexible
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be able to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA)
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
- 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
- Every other weekend and Holiday
- Full Time
