Job Summary
Provide patient care duties for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serve as a scrub technologist and Nursing Assistant, delivering care preoperatively, perioperatively, and postoperatively within scope of practice and hospital policy. Function as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse while performing organizational, administrative, and communication functions. Requires High School diploma, BCLS certification, and Nurse Aide I or II registry listing. No prior experience required; incumbent must achieve proficiency in basic job aspects within three months of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- BCLS certification
- AHA certification (if BLS is not from AHA)
- NA1 or NA2 certification
- NA2 listing with the Nurse Aide Registry at the NC Division of Facility Services and the NC Board of Nursing (if NA2)
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology
- Certification in Surgical Technology
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Formal training in basic computer applications
- Data entry proficiency
