Job Summary
Conduct technical assistance and support during surgical procedures by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment while ensuring patient safety. Perform duties across multiple surgical service lines, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Maintain rotating weekend schedule working 7pm to 7am. Requires accredited surgical technology program graduation with one year of experience or three years of full-time operating room employment, plus American Heart Association BLS certification. Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist or TS-C is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education
- Must hold American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
- Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program and working as a Surgical Technologist with one (1) year of experience
- Three (3) years of full-time employment within the last seven (7) years in an Operating Room setting working as a Surgical Technologist
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Technologist in Surgery- Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
