Surgical Tech II Certified

Prepare the operating room, scrub for all specialty service line procedures, and manage instruments and supplies while maintaining a sterile field. Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to plan intra-operative care, utilizing physician preference lists and nursing care plans to generate case cart pick lists. Position patients intra-operatively, ensuring safety through knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and adhere to protocols for electro-surgical, radiation, and fire safety. Handle and dispose of patient specimens according to department policies, while demonstrating competence in operating decontamination units, steam autoclaves, and chemical sterilization equipment. Requires Surgical Technician Training Course graduation, certification, and one year of acute care experience focusing on ortho, laparoscopic, vascular, and ophthalmology procedures.
