Job Summary
Prepare operating rooms, arrange equipment, and ensure sterile environments while assisting surgeons during procedures. Hand instruments, hold retractors, dress wounds, and transport patients and specimens as needed. Maintain clean, organized ORs, manage hazardous materials, and practice cost-effective resource use. Assist with cleaning, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments, including endoscope processing. Work collaboratively with the surgical team, maintain accurate records of procedures and instrument counts, and adhere to safety protocols and infection control guidelines. Respond to on-call shifts within 30 minutes. Requires BLS certification and LPN license for advanced roles.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited surgical tech program
- LPN license in Nebraska
- BLS certification
- Knowledge of OR procedures
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques
- Knowledge of surgical instruments
- Knowledge of equipment
- Ability to take on-call shifts
- Ability to respond within 30 minutes
- Strong math skills

- Ability to interpret technical documents
