Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved specific discipline or successful completion of a surgical technologist training program, especially from military service
- Less than one year of relevant work experience
- Certification from NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C necessary unless graduated from armed forces training program
Desired Qualifications
- Active NBSTSA or NCCT certification upon hire
- Ability to assist the surgeon before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Knowledge of the specific equipment, surgical procedures, and operating room care
- Fundamental awareness of environmental sterility and safety
- Basic knowledge of surgical technology
Additional Requirements
- Current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months are not eligible for the sign-on bonus or relocation bonus
