Job Summary
Certified Surgical Technologist – First Assist works with the surgical team to prepare the sterile field, anticipate the needs of the surgeons, and pass instruments during procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining asepsis, assisting with patient positioning and draping, supporting instrument counts and documentation, keeping equipment ready, restocking supplies, and ensuring OR efficiency under the direction of the RN. This role supports high-quality patient care in the operating room and requires compliance with safety and infection control standards.
Required Qualifications
- Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program required
- Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required
- 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required
- CST - Certified Surgical Technologist required
- BLS - Basic Life Support required
