Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist maintains responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures. May serve as a Preceptor. Provides sterile instruments and supplies during the procedure; performs sponge, needle and instrument counts; prepares case tables with equipment and medications; assists in patient positioning; collaborates with physicians on instrument changes and cost-saving opportunities; engages in case costing and waste elimination efforts; supports a safe operating room environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or equivalent
- Completion of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology
- Surgical Technologist Experience (Clinical rotations count as experience)
