Job Summary
Set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and maintain a sterile environment according to AORN standards. Pass instruments and sutures to the surgeon and assistants while ensuring proper care and handling of supplies per manufacturer guidelines. Recognize breaks in aseptic technique and immediately act to make corrections. Requires 3-6 months of scrubbing experience in General, GYN, Ortho, and GU, plus Fire Safety and AHA BLS certification. Located at Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Required Qualifications
- 3-6 months scrubbing experience in General, GYN, Ortho and GU within their training program
- High School Graduate or GED
- Fire Safety card within 90 days of hire
- AHA Basic Life Support - CPR

- enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures
- knowledge and practice with carrying out aseptic technique for self and others according to AORN standards and practices
- ability to recognize breaks or imminent breaks in aseptic technique and immediately act to make corrections according to department practice
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) to three (3) years scrubbing experience in General, GYN, Ortho and GU
