Job Summary
Surgical Scheduler: Schedule patients accurately and efficiently for all surgical procedures, including pre- and post-operative appointments and testing, while obtaining necessary medical clearances. Communicate clearly with patients, physicians, and staff; serve as liaison among hospitals, surgery centers, patients, and physicians; coordinate schedules to maximize efficiency and meet department goals. Ensure documentation and data entry in Medent chart messages and Surgical Book Planner, including surgery details, location, time, case length, and confirmations. Verify demographic information and insurance requirements, obtain prior authorizations, review insurance benefits, and manage scheduling communications (including prep instructions and interpreter services as needed). Stay up-to-date on insurance guidelines, respond to inquiries, support coordination of rescheduling or cancellations, and maintain accurate daily physician surgery schedules. Represent U.S. Urology Partners professionally and maintain patient confidentiality. This role requires a High School diploma/GED, at least three years of surgery scheduling experience, and familiarity with computer information systems; medical assistant or CNA credentials are preferred. Salary range: $15.00-$22.00 per hour, with annualized compensation of $31,200-$45,760 depending on experience and location.
