Job Summary
Initiate the surgical booking process by compiling booking sheets, pre-op orders, consent forms, and prior authorizations. Coordinate with surgeons and nursing staff to ensure all clearances are obtained and disability paperwork is completed. Communicate timely with patients, the operating room, and insurance companies to confirm surgery dates and manage registration details. Update electronic systems with accurate scheduling and insurance information while explaining financial obligations and regulatory forms. Maintain a professional image by adhering to dress codes and promoting patient safety goals within the surgery department.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- 2-3 years office experience
- one year of related experience in a medical practice
