Job Summary
Schedule patients for surgical procedures in Cardio & Thoracic Surgery, Oncology, and Endoscopy & Bronchoscopy Lab using a block-scheduling system to maximize surgeon satisfaction and procedural area utilization. Coordinate pre-admission testing appointments and select appropriate equipment, room specifications, and preferences to support scheduled cases. Work Monday through Friday at SMH Heart Pavilion in Sarasota, FL, supporting six surgeons within the growing Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery practice.
Required Qualifications
- one (1) year of previous healthcare experience
- High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
- Monday - Friday position
- No weekends or holidays
- background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
- knowledge of International Classification of Diseases Index (ICD-10) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT-4)
- effective communication skills, including the ability to handle difficult customer situations
- the ability to type a minimum of fifty (50) words per minute
- the ability to work with minimal supervision
- experience or background in surgery case information/operations
- Associate's Degree
