Job Summary
Surgical Recovery Specialist overseeing donor perfusion and organ preservation, in-house organ recovery center, and intraoperative leadership of a medical team; handles donation management for adult and pediatric patients, OR setup, intraoperative assistance for abdominal and thoracic organ procurement, organ preservation, and OR turnover, with a rotating 24-on/72-off schedule. Requires completion of Surgical Technologist, ER Technologist, or EMT programs; OR experience or organ preservation experience; two+ years OR experience; BLS within 6 months and CTP within 24 months. Skills include surgical equipment knowledge, sterile technique, and ability to assist the organ recovery surgeon across transplant procedures; strong emphasis on teamwork, operating room management, and adherence to safety and sterilization protocols. This role is based in Indianapolis, IN.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Surgical Technologist, ER Technologist, or EMT programs
- Registered Nurses with OR experience or individuals with previous Organ Preservation experience will also be considered
- Two or more years of operating room experience and/or sterile technique required
- BLS required within 6 months
- Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) required within 24 months of hire
