Surgical Preservation Coordinator

The Surgical Preservation Coordinator oversees all organ donor perfusion and organ preservation processes and leads a team of medical professionals during the recovery of solid organs. The role includes providing deceased donor pulsatile machine perfusion and organ procurement/preservation services, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists/CRNAs, nurses, surgical technologists, and OR staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance and expedited documentation. Responsibilities include aseptic organ preservation, equipment setup and troubleshooting, assisting in organ removal per protocols, coordinating with transplant centers, maintaining donor records and DonorNet data, managing inventory, supporting cross-functional teams, and participating in rotating on-call shifts with travel to various sites. The SPC must demonstrate high autonomy, problem-solving in real-time, and strong collaboration within an interdisciplinary team, while advancing organ recovery processes within regulatory standards (OPTN, TransNet, ARORA Policy).
