Job Summary
Surgical Poster coordinates all aspects of surgical care, acting as a liaison between patients, physicians, hospitals, and caregivers. Responsibilities include interviewing patients for coordination of surgical care, explaining procedures and preoperative requirements, verifying surgical care documentation in the EHR and practice management system, coordinating pre-admission testing and scheduling, ensuring timely receipt of pre-ops for nursing review, and providing documented schedules and instructions to patients. The role requires excellent customer service, detailed medical terminology knowledge, EMR proficiency, and strong communication skills, with the ability to travel within a geographic region and maintain HIPAA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of surgical posting experience
- Proficient knowledge of insurance
- Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Urology experience is a plus
- Ability to travel to other sites as necessary within a geographic region
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient computer software and database skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal & written
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
- HIPAA compliance
