Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Assist in cardiovascular operating rooms under supervising physicians, providing direct treatment and management via prescriptive authority or referrals. Counsel patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and community resources while documenting care in accordance with specialty standards. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students as assigned. Requires a board-certified Physician Assistant with minimum one year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting and proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant in good standing and credentialed by the Texas Medical Board with Prescriptive Authority

- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
