Job Summary
Assist in cardiovascular operating rooms by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Provide direct treatment and management of conditions through prescriptive authority or referrals, while counseling patients and families on treatment options and community resources. Document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards and participate in staff orientation and education. Requires prescriptive authority, minimum one year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting, and proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest. Salary range is $140,000+ depending on qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant in good standing
- Credentialed by the Texas Medical Board
- Prescriptive Authority
- Minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- Proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
