Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians. Assist in cardiovascular operating room procedures, including endoscopic and open conduit harvest. Obtain patient histories, perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and provide direct treatment using prescriptive authority. Counsel patients and families on treatment options and community resources while documenting care according to specialty standards. Participate in staff and student orientation. Requires prescriptive authority and minimum one year cardiothoracic surgical first-assisting experience.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant in good standing and credentialed by the Texas Medical Board with Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
