Job Summary
Assist supervising physicians in the cardiovascular operating room by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Provide direct treatment and management of conditions through prescriptive authority or referrals, while counseling patients and families on treatment options and community resources. Document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards and participate in staff orientation. Requires board-certified status with prescriptive authority and minimum one year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting. Salary range starts at $140,000 depending on qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant
- in good standing
- credentialed by the Texas Medical Board
- with Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
