Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Assist in cardiovascular operating room procedures, manage patient care through prescriptive authority, and counsel families on treatment options. Document care delivery per specialty standards and participate in staff orientation. Requires board certification, prescriptive authority, and minimum one year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest. Salary range $140,000+ depending on qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant in good standing and credentialed by the Texas Medical Board with Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
