Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Assist in cardiovascular operating room procedures, including endoscopic and open conduit harvest, while providing direct treatment and management via prescriptive authority. Counsel patients and families on health conditions and treatment options, then document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards and network policies. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students as assigned. Requires board certification, Texas Medical Board credentialing, prescriptive authority, and minimum one year of cardiothoracic surgical first assisting experience.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant in good standing and credentialed by the Texas Medical Board with Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
