Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions by assisting in cardiovascular operating rooms, obtaining patient histories, and performing assessments. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies while providing direct treatment and management with prescriptive authority. Counsel patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and community resources, then document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards. Participate in staff orientation and education as assigned. This role requires a board-certified Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority and minimum one year of cardiothoracic surgical first assisting experience. Salary is $140,000+ depending on qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant
- in good standing
- credentialed by the Texas Medical Board
- with Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
