Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians. Assist in cardiovascular operating rooms by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and providing direct treatment with prescriptive authority. Counsel patients and families on treatment options and community resources while documenting care in accordance with specialty standards. Participate in staff and student orientation and education. Requires board certification, Texas Medical Board credentialed status, prescriptive authority, and minimum one year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest. Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant
- in good standing
- credentialed by the Texas Medical Board
- with Prescriptive Authority

- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
