Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Assist in cardiovascular operating room procedures with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest, while providing direct treatment, counseling, and patient education. Document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards and participate in staff orientation. Requires board certification, prescriptive authority, and Texas Medical Board credentialed status. Salary range starts at $140,000.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant in good standing
- credentialed by the Texas Medical Board
- Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
