Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions in the operating room by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Provide direct treatment and management through prescriptive authority or referrals, while counseling patients and families on health conditions and treatment options. Document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards and participate in staff orientation. Requires board certification, prescriptive authority, and minimum one year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest. Works in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance. Salary range starts at $140,000.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant in good standing
- credentialed by the Texas Medical Board
- Prescriptive Authority
