Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Assist in cardiovascular operating room procedures with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest while providing direct treatment and management via prescriptive authority. Counsel patients and families on health conditions and treatment options, then document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards and network policy. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students as assigned. Requires board certification, Texas Medical Board credentialing, and prescriptive authority.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant
- in good standing
- credentialed by the Texas Medical Board
- with Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
