Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Assist in cardiovascular operating room procedures with prescriptive authority to manage treatment and refer to community resources as needed. Counsel patients and families on health conditions and treatment options while documenting care in accordance with specialty standards. Participate in staff orientation and education, working flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance. Requires board certification, Texas Medical Board credentialed status, and one year of cardiothoracic surgical first assisting experience.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant in good standing and credentialed by the Texas Medical Board with Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
