Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians. Assist in cardiovascular operating room procedures while obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Provide direct treatment management via prescriptive authority or referrals, counsel patients on treatment options, and document care processes per specialty standards. Participate in staff orientation and education. Requires minimum one year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant
- in good standing
- credentialed by the Texas Medical Board
- with Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
