Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians, primarily operating within the cardiovascular operating room. Obtain patient histories, perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and provide direct treatment management using prescriptive authority. Counsel patients and families on health conditions and treatment options while documenting care in accordance with specialty standards. Participate in staff and student orientation and education as assigned. Requires prescriptive authority, minimum one year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting, and proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant in good standing and credentialed by the Texas Medical Board with Prescriptive Authority
