Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions in the operating room by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Provide direct treatment and management with prescriptive authority while counseling patients and families on treatment options and community resources. Document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards and participate in staff orientation and education. Requires prescriptive authority, minimum one year cardiothoracic surgical first-assisting experience, and proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest. Salary range starts at $140,000.
Required Qualifications
- A board-certified Physician Assistant
- in good standing
- credentialed by the Texas Medical Board
- with Prescriptive Authority
- minimum 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
- with proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
