Job Summary
Act as a Certified Surgical Technician under the direction of a Registered Nurse, scrubbing for robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases, and trauma. Deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery while maintaining strong verbal and written communication skills. Make calls independently and multitask effectively across service lines. Work evening shifts from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm with alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage. Join RWJBarnabas Health as part of the premier academic health system in New Jersey.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician certification
- NBSTSA Certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- Availability for 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm shifts
- Full Time employment status
- Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
