Job Summary
Conduct preoperative and intraoperative patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, scrubbing service lines including robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases, and trauma. Manage postoperative responsibilities while maintaining Certified Surgical Technician and NBSTSA certifications, along with current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification. Make calls and communicate effectively with the surgical team, surgeon, and RN to deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery. Work evening shifts from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm with alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage as part of the full-time surgical team at RWJBarnabas Health.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician
- NBSTSA Certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- Availability for 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm shifts
- Full Time employment
- Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
