Job Summary
Scrub for robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases, and trauma service lines under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Coordinate with surgeons and RNs to deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery while making calls and multitasking independently. Requires Certified Surgical Technician and NBSTSA certifications, plus current BLS Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association. Work evening shifts from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm with alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage. Join RWJBarnabas Health as a member of the surgical team in the Operating Room department.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician
- NBSTSA Certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- Availability for 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm shift
- Full Time employment
- Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
