Job Summary
Act as a Certified Surgical Technician under the direction of a Registered Nurse, scrubbing service lines including robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases, and trauma. Deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery while making calls, multitasking, and working independently. Requires alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage with evening shifts from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Full-time hourly position at RWJBarnabas Health, the leading academic health system in New Jersey, advancing innovative strategies in high-quality patient care, education, and research.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician
- NBSTSA Certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- Availability for 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm shift
- Full Time employment
- Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
