Job Summary

Provide high-quality, patient-centered surgical oncology nursing care, collaborating with the medical team to support oncology patients. Responsibilities include assessing patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, performing procedures and administering medications as ordered, documenting care in the medical record, responding to patient requests, and educating patients, families, and caregivers about the medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Must ensure thorough documentation, monitor therapeutic responses, and translate complex medical terminology to patients and families.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelors Degree
  • One year of in patient care experience preferred
  • Experience on a post surgical floor with a variety of drains preferred
