Job Summary
Surgical Oncologist opportunity with MercyOne Cancer Center in Des Moines, IA. The role involves surgical management of solid tumors including GI hepatobiliary, pancreatic, thyroid/parathyroid, Whipple, and MIS/robotic-assisted procedures; use of DaVinci Xi with teaching consoles; collaboration with medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and oncology nurses; participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical trials; and opportunities to contribute to evolving cancer care through innovative therapies and evidence-based protocols. Compensation includes a base salary of $470,000 with a $150,000 recruitment incentive, moving allowance up to $15,000, and comprehensive benefits with CME support and tail malpractice coverage. The program emphasizes a collaborative, patient-centered approach within a growing statewide cancer service line, with a focus on quality outcomes and work-life balance.
Required Qualifications
- Fellowship-trained Surgical Oncologist
- Board-certified in General Surgery
- Surgical Oncology board certification preferred
