Job Summary
Surgical Nurse (RN) in the OR providing perioperative nursing care in collaboration with the health-care team. Responsibilities align with ANA Scope and Standards, including assessment, planning, implementation, coordination of care, health teaching, and evaluation. Requires adherence to professional practice models and ongoing development through programs like SPIRE. Licensure as a Connecticut RN with current BCLS certification and a BSN preferred. Emphasis on leadership, ethical practice, culturally congruent care, effective communication, and patient-centered outcomes in the operating room.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred or equivalent
- Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire
- Experience as an OR RN or eligible for OR practice
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
