Job Summary
As a Surgical Nurse (RN) in the OR, provide professional nursing care within the Yale New Haven Health System. Uphold the mission and standards per ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, ensuring patient-centered care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Collaborate with patients, families, and health-care teams; communicate effectively; respect patient values and cultural diversity; and promote quality outcomes. Must be licensed and registered in Connecticut; BSN preferred; BCLS within one month of hire. Experienced OR RNs are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
- Experience as an OR RN or Surgical RN preferred
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; ability to lift up to 300 pounds in some occasions
