Job Summary
Surgical Nurse (RN) in an operating room setting responsible for delivering patient-centered nursing care per ANA standards, collaborating with the healthcare team, and applying professional practice principles. The RN demonstrates leadership, effective communication, and ethical practice while adhering to the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and YNHHS standards; duties include assessment, planning, implementation, coordination of care, health teaching, and evaluation in the surgical environment. Emphasis on safety, culturally congruent care, and ongoing clinical advancement through SPIRE program participation when available.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred or higher
- Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
- Experience as an OR RN or in surgical nursing
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- CT RN license
- Current BCLS certification or be able to obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
- Experience as OR RN
- Ability to lead, collaborate, and communicate effectively
- SPIRE clinical advancement program participation encouraged
