Surgical Nurse (RN) / OR Surgical RN

The RN provides professional nursing care in the Operating Room as part of Yale New Haven Health System, guided by ANA Standards and the YNHHS Practice Model. Responsibilities include applying nursing process components (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation); coordinating care; health teaching and promotion; and collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team to achieve quality outcomes. The role requires leadership, ethical practice, effective communication, evidence-based care, and ongoing professional development. Licensure as a Connecticut RN and current BCLS certification are required; BSN is preferred. The position emphasizes patient-centered care, cultural competence, and adherence to professional standards.
