Job Summary
Surgical Nurse (RN) in the OR needed to provide patient-centered care following ANA standards and YNHHS/model practices. Responsibilities include applying nursing process components (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation), collaborating with the patient/family and healthcare team, leading and coordinating care, and promoting evidence-based practice. Must demonstrate ethical practice, cultural congruence, effective communication, leadership, and ongoing professional development. Requires RN licensure in CT, BSN preferred, and BCLS certification with a one-month completion window; clinical specialty certification encouraged. Work setting is the operating room in Glen Allen, VA; role emphasizes autonomy, accountability, and quality outcomes within a hierarchical, standards-driven framework.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- BSN preferred
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
