Job Summary
Surgical Nurse (RN) / OR Surgical RN responsible for delivering patient-centered nursing care in the operating room setting in accordance with ANA standards and YNHHS policies. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation), coordinating care with the patient and health-care team, health teaching, and promoting a safe environment. Requires active RN licensure in Connecticut, BSN preferred, and BCLS certification within one month of hire; clinical advancement opportunities available through SPIRE. Experience as an OR nurse and adherence to professional practice standards are encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire.
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged.
