Job Summary
RN professional nurse in the Operating Room (OR) providing patient-centered care per ANA standards and Yale New Haven Health System practices. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation); ensuring effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and the health care team; leading ethically and culturally congruent care; pursuing SPIRE clinical advancement opportunities; and maintaining licensure and BCLS certification. BSN preferred; CT licensure required; environment includes potential exposure to infectious diseases and needs for physical endurance consistent with OR nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed in the State of Connecticut as a registered nurse
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
