Job Summary
Surgical Nurse (RN) in the OR within Yale New Haven Health System. The RN provides patient-centered care guided by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act, ANA Standards and the YNHHS Professional Practice Model, emphasizing leadership, collaboration, communication and evidence-based practice. Responsibilities encompass applying the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation), coordinating care with patients and families, ensuring safety and quality outcomes, and maintaining professional ethics. Current CT RN licensure and BCLS certification (or obtain within one month) are required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- RN responsibilities align with ANA Standards of Practice and YNHHS professional practice model
- Must uphold professional conduct, ethics, collaboration and effective communication within healthcare team
