Job Summary
Perform case cleaning between procedures and conduct terminal cleaning at the end of daily operations with emphasis on efficiency and thoroughness. Properly use chemicals by adhering to manufacturer dilution ratios and never mix substances unless directed. Clean hard surfaces including dust mopping, damp mopping with disinfectant, spot mopping spills, and buffing floors with rotary or high-speed buffers. Adhere to infection control guidelines by wearing PPE, washing hands frequently, and reporting blood or fluid exposures immediately. Participate in scheduled on-call rotation covering weekends and holidays, and clean patient rooms, discharge areas, and special zones like Labor and Delivery, ICU, and Emergency Department as requested.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Knowledge of chemicals used for cleaning in healthcare setting
- Experience in use of heavier equipment to include rotary buffer and high speed buffers
- Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to create an appropriate environment
- Participates in Surgical Housekeeping Specialist /EVS Custodian and Housekeeping "On Call Rotation" as scheduled. This includes weekends and Holiday coverage
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in healthcare setting preferred
- Other cleaning experience may be accepted
